Resources by Chapter
The Resources by Chapter book contains support for teachers to provide extra practice, to reteach, and to extend learning for students. The resources vary depending on the grade band.
K-5:
- Family Letter (English and Spanish)
The Family Letters provide a way to quickly communicate to family members how they can help their student with the material of the chapter. They make the mathematics less intimidating and provide suggestions for helping students see mathematical concepts in common activities. A chart with the Learning Target and Success Criteria for each lesson is also provided.
- Warm-Ups
Each lesson has three options for getting the class started. The Daily Skills Practice questions review previously-learned concepts. The Vocabulary Practice questions review previously-learned vocabulary words. The Prerequisite Skills Practice questions review prerequisite skills needed for the lesson.
- Extra Practice
The Extra Practice exercises provide additional practice on the key concepts taught in the lesson.
- Reteach
Each Reteach provides additional examples with more support for students who are struggling to understand the concepts. Exercises for these examples are also provided.
- Enrichment and Extension
Each Enrichment and Extension extends the lesson and provides a challenging application of the key concepts.
6-8:

- Start Thinking/Warm Up/Cumulative Review Warm Up
Each Start Thinking/Warm Up/Cumulative Review Warm Up includes two options for getting the class started. The Start Thinking questions provide students with an opportunity to discuss thought-provoking questions and analyze real-world situations. The Warm Up questions review prerequisite skills needed for the lesson. The Cumulative Review Warm Up questions review material from earlier lessons or courses.
- Practice A and B
The Extra Practice exercises provide additional practice on the key concepts taught in the lesson. There are two levels of practice provided for each lesson: A (basic) and B (average).
- Enrichment and Extension
Each Enrichment and Extension extends the lesson and provides a challenging application of the key concepts.
- Puzzle Time
Each Puzzle Time provides additional practice in a fun format in which students use their mathematical knowledge to solve a riddle. This format allows students to self-check their work.
- Cumulative Review
The Cumulative Review includes exercises covering concepts and skills from the current chapter and previous chapters.
The Resources by Chapter is available at the book, chapter, and section level. At the book level, you will find all the answers, credits, and front matter. At the chapter level, you will find a chapter PDF of the materials and the answers, as well as an editable version in Word. At the section level, you will find a PDF of the materials relevant to only that section along with the answers.
